The translation of the text of the article is below and can be found at http:\/\/tinyurl.com\/nsalp4d<\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cOn June 26, 2013, the United States Supreme Court in a 5 to 4 decision held Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) to be unconstitutional.\u00a0 Same-sex couples are now entitled to the same marital federal benefits as opposite-sex couples.\u00a0\u00a0 Thereafter, President Obama and Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, both welcomed the decision of the Court and promised that federal benefits for same-sex, legally married couples will be implemented swiftly, smoothly, and equally as opposite-sex spouses.\u00a0\u00a0 On January 10, 2014, Attorney General Eric Holder stated with regard to Utah\u2019s same-sex marriage ban:\u00a0 \u201cLast June, the Supreme Court issued a landmark decision in <a href=\"http:\/\/oliverzhanglaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Windsor.pdf\">United States v. Windsor<\/a>, holding Americans in same-sex marriages are entitled to equal protection and equal treatment under the law.\u00a0 This ruling marked a historic step towards equality for all American families.\u201d\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Currently, same-sex marriage is legal in <a title=\"LGBT Immigration\" href=\"http:\/\/oliverzhanglaw.com\/immigration\/lgbt\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">16 states<\/span><\/a> and the District of Columbia.\u00a0 For those who have endured prevalent discriminatory laws in the LBGT community, this decision is not merely a progressive symbol of equality for gay rights, but it has for the first time, enabled same-sex couples to apply for immigration benefits.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Until recently, obtaining immigration benefits, such as visas and green cards through same-sex marriage, was highly unlikely.\u00a0 Most same-sex marriage immigration benefit applications were rejected.\u00a0 The effect of the Windsor decision, however, was definitive.\u00a0 Four days after the Supreme Court\u2019s decision, gay couple Julian Marsh and Traian Povov received their notice for green card approval.\u00a0 In another case, an American citizen applied for immediate family immigration for his spouse who was illegally present in the United States.\u00a0 The immigration court initially began deportation proceedings against the foreign spouse, but the removal proceedings were terminated after the repeal of DOMA.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Attorney Julie Oliver-Zhang explains that gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender same-sex couples are eligible for immigration benefits even if they reside in a state that has not yet legalized same-sex marriage.\u00a0 If one spouse is a green card holder or a U.S. citizen, then marriage in one of the 16 states or D.C. that has legalized gay marriage will meet the requirements for the application of immigration benefits.\u00a0 Same-sex couples do not need to establish state residency, but merely get married in a legal gay marriage jurisdiction to be immediately eligible for green card or visa benefits for foreign spouses and their children.\u00a0\u00a0 Depending on the circumstances, even if the foreign same-sex partner has illegally entered or resided without documentation in America for a number of years, they may still qualify for a green card.\u00a0 <\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Same-sex partners of U.S. citizens who are living abroad are eligible for fianc\u00e9 or fianc\u00e9e visas that will allow them to quickly travel to the United States and get married.\u00a0\u00a0 Once the foreign spouse obtains permanent residency and become American citizens, they can apply for immigration benefits for their immediate relatives, such as parents and siblings.\u00a0\u00a0 With the change in the new immigration laws, foreign LGBT partners can finally be reunited with their families.\u00a0 <\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>The new immigration rights is a positive step towards remedying a history of discrimination against same-sex couples, allowing those in the LGBT community to achieve the American dream through swift and effective immigration processing.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>If you have Napolitano\u90fd\u5148\u540e\u53d1\u8868\u58f0\u660e\uff0c\u6b22\u8fce\u7f8e\u56fd\u6700\u9ad8\u6cd5\u9662\u7684\u88c1\u51b3\uff0c\u5e76\u627f\u8bfa\u5c06\u786e\u4fdd\u5408\u6cd5\u540c\u6027\u5a5a\u59fb\u80fd\u50cf\u4f20\u7edf\u5f02\u6027\u5a5a\u59fb\u4e00\u6837\u8fc5\u901f\u5feb\u6377\u5730\u83b7\u5f97\u8054\u90a6\u798f\u5229\u53ca\u79fb\u6c11\u6743\u76ca\u3002 \u5728\u5173\u4e8e\u7f8e\u56fd\u72b9\u4ed6\u5dde\u540c\u6027\u5a5a\u59fb\u7684\u7981\u4ee4\u516c\u5f00\u5ba3\u5e03,\u300c\u7f8e\u56fd\u540c\u6027\u5a5a\u59fb\u4eab\u6709\u5e73\u7b49\u7684\u4fdd\u62a4\uff0c\u4f9d\u6cd5\u5e73\u7b49\u5bf9\u5f85\u3002\u8fd9\u9879\u5386\u53f2\u6027\u7684\u88c1\u51b3\u4e3a\u6240\u6709\u7f8e\u56fd\u5bb6\u5ead\u8d70\u5411\u4e86\u5e73\u7b49\u7684\u4e00\u6b65\u3002\u300d<\/p>\n<p>\u5230\u76ee\u524d\u4e3a\u6b62\uff0c\u540c\u6027\u5a5a\u59fb\u5728\u7f8e\u56fd\u768416\u4e2a\u5dde\u548c\u54e5\u4f26\u6bd4\u4e9a\u7279\u533a\u5f97\u4ee5\u5408\u6cd5\u5b58\u5728\uff0c\u5bf9\u4e8e\u957f\u4e45\u9971\u53d7\u4e0d\u516c\u6b63\u5f85\u9047\u7684\u540c\u6027\u670b\u53cb\u4eec\u6765\u8bf4\uff0c\u8fd9\u4e00\u5386\u53f2\u6027\u7684\u65f6\u523b\u4e0d\u4ec5\u8d4b\u4e88\u4e86\u4ed6\u4eec\u5e73\u7b49\u7684\u6743\u5229\uff0c\u540c\u65f6\u4e5f\u4e3a\u540c\u6027\u5a5a\u59fb\u4f34\u4fa3\u7533\u8bf7\u79fb\u6c11\u76f8\u5173\u4e8b\u52a1\u5e26\u6765\u4fbf\u5229\u3002<\/p>\n<p>\u5728\u6b64\u4e4b\u524d\uff0c\u901a\u8fc7\u540c\u6027\u7ed3\u5a5a\u83b7\u53d6\u5408\u6cd5\u79fb\u6c11\u8eab\u4efd\u7684\u5e0c\u671b\u5341\u5206\u6e3a\u832b\uff0c\u5176\u4e2d\u5927\u90e8\u5206\u7684\u7533\u8bf7\u90fd\u906d\u5230\u9a73\u56de\u3002\u8be5\u5224\u51b3\u6548\u679c\u663e\u8457\uff0c\u4ec5\u4ec5\u5728\u8054\u90a6\u6700\u9ad8\u6cd5\u9662\u4f5c\u51fa\u51b3\u5b9a4\u5929\u4ee5\u540e\uff0c\u5df2\u5a5a\u540c\u6027\u4f34\u4fa3Julian Marsh\u548cTraian Povov\u4fbf\u6536\u5230\u4e86\u7eff\u5361\u7533\u8bf7\u901a\u8fc7\u7684\u901a\u77e5\u3002\u5148\u524d\uff0c\u4e00\u4f4d\u7f8e\u56fd\u516c\u6c11\u4e3a\u540c\u6027\u4f34\u4fa3\u7533\u8bf7\u5bb6\u5ead\u79fb\u6c11\u906d\u62d2\uff0c\u56e0\u800c\u5176\u5916\u7c4d\u4e08\u592b\u88ab\u5217\u5165\u9012\u89e3\u7a0b\u5f0f\u3002\u5f97\u77e5\u5a5a\u59fb\u4fdd\u62a4\u6cd5\u8fdd\u5baa\u540e\uff0c\u79fb\u6c11\u6cd5\u5b98\u7acb\u5373\u7ec8\u6b62\u4e86\u76f8\u5173\u6cd5\u5f8b\u8bc9\u8bbc\u3002<\/p>\n<p>\u8a79\u4e45\u8c0a\u5f8b\u5e08\u89e3\u91ca, \u8eab\u5904\u540c\u6027\u5a5a\u59fb\u4e0d\u5408\u6cd5\u5dde\u7684\u540c\u6027\u4f34\u4fa3\u4e5f\u4e0d\u7528\u4e3a\u5982\u4f55\u6ce8\u518c\u7ed3\u5a5a\u800c\u62c5\u5fc3\u3002\u53ea\u8981\u5176\u4e2d\u4e00\u65b9\u4e3a\u7eff\u5361\u6301\u6709\u8005\u6216\u7f8e\u56fd\u516c\u6c11\uff0c\u5728\u540c\u6027\u5a5a\u59fb\u5408\u6cd5\u768416\u4e2a\u5dde\u6216\u534e\u5e9c\u7ed3\u5a5a\uff0c\u4e0d\u7528\u957f\u4e45\u5c45\u4f4f, \u5373\u7b26\u5408\u79fb\u6c11\u6cd5\u8981\u6c42\uff0c\u5e76\u53ef\u4e3a\u540c\u6027\u4f34\u4fa3\u548c\u5b69\u5b50\u5373\u523b\u7533\u8bf7\u7eff\u5361\u79fb\u6c11\u3002\u867d\u7136\u540c\u6027\u4f34\u4fa3\u4e5f\u8bb8\u6570\u5e74\u975e\u6cd5\u5c45\u7559\u5728\u7f8e\u56fd\uff0c\u6839\u636e\u60c5\u51b5, \u4ed6\u4eec\u4e5f\u53ef\u80fd\u6709\u8d44\u683c\u83b7\u5f97\u7eff\u5361\u3002\u8eab\u5904\u5f02\u56fd\u800c\u5206\u5c45\u7684\u540c\u6027\u4f34\u4fa3\u53ef\u9760\u672a\u5a5a\u592b, \u672a\u5a5a\u59bb\u7533\u8bf7\u7b7e\u8bc1\u6765\u7f8e\u7ed3\u5a5a\u3002\u5916\u7c4d\u540c\u6027\u4f34\u4fa3\u6301\u6709\u7f8e\u56fd\u6c38\u4e45\u5c45\u7559\u6743\u540e\u53ef\u4e3a\u4eb2\u5c5e, \u50cf\u7236\u6bcd\u548c\u5144\u5f1f\u59d0\u59b9,\u7533\u8bf7\u79fb\u6c11\u7b7e\u8bc1\u3002\u4eca\u540e, \u5916\u7c4d\u540c\u6027\u4f34\u4fa3\u548c\u914d\u5076\u53ca\u4eb2\u5c5e\u53ef\u5728\u7f8e\u56fd\u76f8\u805a\u56e2\u5706\u3002\u540c\u6027\u5a5a\u59fb\u4f34\u4fa3\u79fb\u6c11\u5e73\u7b49\u7684\u6743\u5229,
